Alamwar: The Art of the Slow Journey
Alamwar is a design house born at the intersection of fine art and ancestral heritage. Founded by Viji, a multimedia artist and textile designer, our collections are meticulously crafted for the discriminating buyer who seeks more than just a product—they seek a story, an experience, and a certified sense of authenticity.
From our studio roots in the vibrant arts community of St. Petersburg, Florida, to our historic workshop in India, we infuse global influences with ancient craft to create cutting-edge, avant-garde designs.

Exclusivity,Authenticity, and High-Art Aesthetics
Our mission is rooted in the "slow journey" of creation. We collaborate intimately with textile artisans and master craftspeople across India, designing exclusive works that provide sustainable livelihoods while enabling the vital preservation of ancient craft forms. Our signature blend of luxury fabrics and intricate embellishments is laced with a vintage, cross-cultural vibe. Alamwar creates a "well-traveled" aesthetic that feels both timeless and contemporary. From our Boho-chic luxury resort wear to our soulful home collections, we invite you to embrace a life of pure, sustainable living.
As a brand led by a textile designer and multimedia artist, we view every piece as a canvas. Our work in India goes beyond design; it is a partnership with indigenous communities to safeguard heritage techniques that have been passed down for generations. By choosing Alamwar, our clients support the continued existence of these ancient craft forms. This is luxury with a purpose—designed for the global citizen who values elegance, ethics, and the incomparable beauty of the handmade.
Alamwar Design and Experience Center : A Collaborative AtelierÂ
We are delighted to welcome discerning buyers and designers to the newly launched Alamwar Design Studio and Experience Center—a sanctuary where historical legacy and modern vision converge.
In this immersive environment, designers and collectors have the rare opportunity to co-create bespoke linens and textiles, drawing from our archive of 17th-century wooden blocks and custom natural dye palettes. Here, under the guidance of our veteran artisans and the watchful eye of the Alamwar sisters, you can manifest one-of-a-kind projects for private sanctuaries.

For the Professional:
We offer a collaborative "Design Lab" environment. Architects and interior designers can co-author bespoke textiles and soft furnishings, selecting from our archival blocks and custom natural dye palettes to manifest one-of-a-kind projects for their clients.
For the Seeker:
We offer the opportunity to create your own bespoke linens and textiles. Under the mentorship of our veteran artisans, you can immerse yourself in the rhythmic art of the block, transforming raw fabric into a personal narrative.

A 400-Year Legacy & The Artisan Stronghold
The soul of Alamwar resides in an unrivaled collection of archival wooden blocks, some dating back to the early 17th century. These relics represent the golden age of the Deccan Plateau, once the most coveted source of textiles for the European market.
Our brand’s survival and success are anchored by our team—the true stronghold of Alamwar. Our master printers have been with our workshop for over 45 years, and many of our artisans have dedicated more than 25 years to their craft. This profound loyalty ensures that every piece of "Wearable Art" and "Livable Artistry" carries the soul and precision that only decades of mastery can produce.

A Cultural Odyssey
For those seeking a deeper connection, we curate a transformative cultural odyssey into the neighboring villages of the Deccan Plateau.
Here, you will witness the rhythmic precision of Ikat weaving and the vibrant hand-embroidery of Banjara women artisans.
This is more than a textile tour; it is a sensory immersion into a living history, unfolding through traditional music, local heritage, and an authentic culinary experience. Through Alamwar, we
invite you to inhabit the story of the earth.
